Discover Tanzania Our Lens

On October 31, 2019 a group of photographers, Yvonne Franklin, Ena High, Quandra Johnson, Naaman Brown, Corlissa Lunkin and videographer April J under the leadership of photographer Jermaine Gibbs took a journey to Tanzania where they visited Dar es Salaam, Zanzibar and Arusha to not only explore culture and history but tell a story through each of their lens. During this journey they traveled with Tanzania photographers Hans Photography, Hyper Magic, Gwanny and inspiring videographer Shabir El Capitano. This group not only bonded but became family and experienced a fulfillment that was indescribable. The group spent one night among the Masaai tribe where they learned their customs and traditions and how they live. Even though there were no shower or bathroom, it was the most peaceful place that the group had ever experienced. Anyone especially for African American it is said that once you step on African soil you feel a since of being home and after visiting such a beautiful place I can say it is a feeling that is truly unexplainable. Below is a preview of the 3 hour documentary of our journey.
